Although I could probably do it, it makes me nervous going into terminal and making sure I did the recommended above correctly. However, before I moved ahead, the apple rep thought I should confirm with you guys that this was the best resolution. I contacted mac support, and we were able to find workaround threads here: I've tried clicking and dragging steam into the list to add it, but when the steam app is hovering over the list, the word "Remove" appears behind where you would think "Add" should appear. The only problem is, that when I go to my list of permissions, steam is not shown as an app which can be selected. I was able to narrow the issue down to likely being that steam did not have microphone permissions. So, my microphone will work in discord, but does not work in steam games (mostly just playing counter strike go & source, if it's relevant). Have you checked for system updates?: (updated on computer and steam).
